Certifi Media Inc. specializes in the conversion of analog media to digital media. We have in-depth experience in image quality measurement, image/signal processing algorithm development, compression technologies, security, computer vision applications, and software development.

Paul W. Jones

Paul W. Jones

Cofounder and CEO

Paul brings 26 years of technical experience in the areas of digital image and video processing, image compression, image security, and image quality. He has a proven record of innovation and currently holds 29 U.S. patents and has eight U.S. patent applications. As a Senior Principal Scientist at Eastman Kodak, he made significant contributions to a diverse range of digital imaging applications, including consumer and professional photography, document imaging, medical imaging, and motion picture imaging. Paul was also a co-recipient of the 2005 C.E.K. Mees Award (Kodak’s highest research honor) for his work on digital image watermarking. He holds BS and MS degrees in Imaging Science from Rochester Institute of Technology and an MS degree in Electrical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He is co-author of the textbook “Digital Image Compression Techniques”, currently in its seventh printing, and has co-authored three book chapters on image compression. He has taught numerous seminars on image compression, and has presented new technical contributions at a variety of conferences and forums and in journal articles. He was a co-recipient of the 2007 Journal Award for the best paper of the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers (SMPTE) and recipient of the 2008 Certificate of Merit from SMPTE for an outstanding paper.

Chris brings 25 years of technical and leadership experience in the areas of digital image, signal, and video processing and is considered an innovator and an expert in imaging science and security technologies. He has significant experience in generating strategic intellectual property and currently holds 30 U.S. patents and has multiple U.S. and International patent applications. As a Senior Principal Scientist at Eastman Kodak’s corporate research and development labs, his primary contributions were in the areas of image security, digital watermarking, data compression, document processing, and high-speed scanner technology. Chris was a co-recipient of the 2005 C.E.K. Mees Award (Kodak’s highest research honor) for his work on digital image watermarking. He holds an MS degree in Physics from Ohio University and is a Member of the IEEE. In the area of image security, his contributions have been recognized in modern textbooks. He has been an invited speaker at Microsoft Research Media Inc. (Cambridge, UK), Cornell University, Rochester Institute of Technology, Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA), IEE (London), and others.

Bob McComb

Robert J. McComb

Cofounder

Bob brings 25 years of business management experience in the digital imaging, archiving, and diagnostic imaging sectors. He has held a number of senior positions at Eastman Kodak Company including Vice President and General Manager of Medical Digital Imaging. He has provided consulting services to numerous Fortune 500 companies, from start-up’s to business acquisitions. Bob is a co-founder and Director of The Brechin Group Inc., a company that provides state of the art digitization services to archives, museums, and digital libraries. He holds an Honours Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Toronto and attended the Executive Development Program at the Wharton Business School of the University of Pennsylvania.
